Dazu Rock Carvings（大足石刻）is the collective name for many carved sites in Dazu District, west of central Chongqing. UNESCO recognises five principal clusters: Baodingshan（宝顶山）, Beishan（北山）, Nanshan（南山）, Shimenshan（石门山）and Shizhuanshan（石篆山）. They date mainly from the ninth to thirteenth centuries and combine Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian imagery with scenes of work, family and everyday moral instruction.
