Liangzhu is a large archaeological landscape, not a compact ruin with standing palaces. Its value lies in the relationship between the palace platform at Mojiaoshan（莫角山）, river channels, rice-growing land, city walls, cemeteries and an exceptional water-management system created more than 5,000 years ago. A first visit works best when the park model and interpretation come before the long open-air sections. Otherwise the low earthworks can look like ordinary fields.
