Do not make Google Maps the only mainland map

Online Google services can be restricted on mainland networks, and local place or route information may be incomplete or outdated. Save the Chinese name and compare the destination in a mainland-ready map. Google Translate offline language packs remain useful separately.

Verify before moving

  • Match the city and district, especially for common hotel or station names.
  • Check whether the pin represents the building, a gate, a parking entrance or a general area.
  • At railway stations, use the exact station suffix and confirm the departure station from the ticket.
  • At airports, confirm the airport code and terminal.
  • For hiking and scenic areas, verify current entrance and transport information separately.
The English search finds the wrong place

Paste the Chinese name, add the district and compare a nearby landmark.

The walking route ends at a wall or closed gate

Search for the named entrance, ask staff and compare satellite or street-level context where available.

An offline map is missing or expired
