Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area（黄龙风景名胜区）protects a high mountain valley in northern Sichuan, recognised by UNESCO for its travertine pools, waterfalls, forests, limestone formations and surrounding snow peaks. The most concentrated terraces lie high in the main valley around Five-Color Pools（五彩池）. The standard low-stress route uses the cableway uphill, reaches the upper pool system, then descends on the boardwalk past successive travertine formations.
